If you're going to smoke pot... use clean needles...

I'm ready for a nap :) I've been back in Portland for a while now, and Joy joined me two weeks ago. A week after that we headed to Boise to grab Airika from her grandparents. Currently we're all crowded into a large hotel room while we figure out two things: how long my work will keep me here, and if its long enough, where will we live. We're hoping to get into a townhouse or something out here within a month...

A bit of the ol'

Welly well... What a busy weekend. Had a lot of fun BBQ'ing with friends on Friday night. I went home for the weekend for my daughters 13th birthday... Wow.. 13... How things have change. Considering all she has been through, she has turned out to be a wonderful young woman and I am very proud of her. Joy and I threw her a birthday party at a skating rink, per her request...

Dealing with life...

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, but it seems life got scary and complicated. While working in Florida, doctors discovered my mother had 2 arteries in her heart nearly completely blocked, and they took her in for an emergency double bypass. I flew home from Florida for three weeks to be with her and help her as she needed. She is still recovering and we are certainly glad that she survived the ordeal.

Summer of Sin

I got to see Tori Amos tonite! It's her second stop on her Sinsuality tour, in Orlando, Florida. I tried to get tickets to her first show in Clearwater but it was totally sold out. She put on a great show, as always, stopping in the middle for "Tori's Piano Bar" during which she performed two covers (see the set list below...) It was just Tori and her piano, no band backing her up. I've seen her perform probably 10 times and I think I've only seen her with her band maybe 4 times, and I enjoy her with her band but its a much more intimate experience when its her with her instruments. The venue was quite small which also added a lot to a terrific show.

ARM Toolchain and Xfree86 (Tiny-X) How-To

* Due to a server crash, several locally linked files are missing from this document. They will be restored as time permits. Thank you for your patience.

This is a work in progress. It documents the steps I've taken to get a cross compiler and Tiny-X working for the LN2410SBC/TFT (Arm 920T / Samsung S3C2410 Chip) All the steps below show the tools I used and the steps I took to get my system working. Your mileage may vary. I am -NOT- responsible for any damage you do to your own hardware. If you are new to Linux and particulary Embedded Linux, I recommend reading Building Embedded Linux Systems

I had hoped to get a development environment working on my Apple Powerbook running OS X. As of this writing I haven't been entirely successful, but I am still working on it. I have installed the GNUARM Toolchain for Mac OS X on my powerbook, but haven't been able to get a full kernel compile out of it. Small binaries seem to build fine on it. If I figure it out, I'll post the information here.
