Or maybe the phrase should be &#8220;Hello again, world&#8221; &#8211; this is the first entry in what I hope to be a document chronicling the restoration work being done on Hank &#8211; Stan Hank&#8217;s hand-built Altair 8800. Along the way I&#8217;ll share some snippets on Stan and his contributions to the world of IT. More to come&#8230; it&#8217;s in my hot little hands &#8211; next up &#8211; getting a bench set up, photographing and doing an inventory of the system, cards, components, documentation. After that, sealing all the boards away in anti-static bags, pulling the whole chassis apart, and cleaning it.
